RESEARCH: Health and safety

During our media lessons we were introduced to technical equipment, in which we will be using for the production of our thriller opening. These included a JVC video camera along with a tripod, a still camera, lighting and sound equipment.

We were taught and shown a demonstration of how to correctly install the camera securely onto the tripod to avoid the camera falling of whilst filming- which is done by adjusting screw on the side of the tripod, until the camera is completely secure. alongside this we were taught how to tilt the camera up and down- to achieve different and effective angles and we learnt about the importance of focusing during filming and the purpose of numerous buttons on the camera, such as zooming in and out. 

We were also made aware about the importance of memory cards and how to insert them and we were also made aware of the hard drives, to increase our understanding on how to insert our footage onto the Mac's.
