In our media lesson we were given a tutorial on how to use the camera equipment and a health and safety talk. The equipment we were told we will be using are JVC Video Camera, Tripods, Still Cameras, Lighting and Sound Equipment and we were shown how to insert our memory cards.
JVC Camera:
Tripod:
Still Camera:
Lighting Equipment:
Sound Equipment:
We were taught how to correctly operate the camera with the tripod, so that the camera can sit still which would prevent the equipment falling apart and breaking. This is done by twisting a little button next to the part where you slide the camera through and we have to hear a click to know its gotten through. We were shown how to open the tripod to avoid it hitting our fingers and at what length would be good.
Then we were shown how to adjust the settings on the camera so we can get good lighting and sound. (We do not always need the extra sound and lighting equipment.) Then we were shown how to insert the memory cards correctly so that the footage saves in the correct card. We were then shown how to tilt and pan. We learnt that while zooming in and out the focusing of the camera is very important, therefore we need to adjust it every time.
To get ourselves used to how to use the equipment we had a practice with everything and also we made swedes in order to get the idea of how swedes work.
